Joseph immediately dimmed his expression. "You're skilled at riding the wave that suits your agenda." Joseph then got into bed, covered himself with Samantha's blanket, and napped without looking at Samantha again. After hearing Joseph start to breathe evenly, Samantha smiled bitterly. Feeling somewhat melancholic, she picked up the photo from the trash can and locked it in the drawer. That occasion three years ago wasn't the first time they'd met each other. Their first encounter, to be exact, was at a charity banquet to which Luke was invited. An invitation letter from the banquet allowed the invitee to attend with a female companion. Since Wendy disliked crowds, Samantha went in her place instead. The first segment of the charity banquet was the auction.
