Chapter 42 Going Mad
Benson was doing it again. His tone and his words felt like accusations, as though Sierra was the one in the wrong.
But wasn't it only natural that he should cut ties with other women? He was clearly the one at fault.
Sierra shook her head, her voice cold. "Benson, you're so childish. From start to finish, you have no idea where you went wrong. You've never given me the basic respect I deserve.
"You and everyone around you have treated me like your dog, a joke to laugh at while you drink, reducing me to nothing."
The smile on Benson's lips vanished instantly. He pursed his lips and said, "It was just a joke. I didn't know…"
"A joke?" She interrupted, her voice laced with sarcasm. Her eyes burned with emotion. "Am I some kind of idiot? Why should I be the punchline of your jokes?"
For a brief moment, Benson's eyes flickered with panic, but he quickly recovered. "I won't let them talk like that again."
Sierra shook her head, her tone still icy. "There's no 'again.' We're done."
