Miranda and her friends finished their meal first.
At the entrance of the barbecue restaurant, she said goodbye to Josh and then drove Naomi home.
As they arrived at Naomi's doorstep, Naomi turned to her with a serious expression. "Miri, you have every right to make a scene. You don't need to force yourself to keep the peace with them."
"I'm not forcing myself," Miranda replied, switching off the car's music. A faint smile graced her delicate features.
"Really?" Naomi asked, her voice tinged with doubt.
Miranda nodded in response. "I've truly let go."
It was only when people learned to let go that they truly found happiness.
Noticing the sincerity in Miranda's expression, Naomi smiled. "Then I'm relieved."
After Naomi went inside, Miranda started the car and drove home.
As she drove, she noticed a pharmacy and decided to pull over. After work, she'd felt a slight sore throat, but it had since developed into a painful ache. It seemed she had caught a cold.
