For once, Miranda had lost her temper at Xavier.
Xavier remained silent, his face a mask of composure. He grasped Miranda's chin, forcing her to lift her gaze.
Miranda bit her lip, on the verge of an outburst when he spoke coldly, "Ms. Jennings, the fact that you are still alive here is a testament to my leniency. Do not push your luck."
His words were perplexing, and Miranda's mind practically short-circuited.
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly. "I don't understand what you mean, Mr. Schneider."
"You really love playing dumb, don't you?"
Xavier let out a chilling laugh. He grasped her shoulders tightly and savagely bit her neck.
He was brutal, as if aiming to sever the woman's carotid artery.
Miranda gritted her teeth, raising her hands as if to push him away, only to drop them midair.
Fortunately, Xavier didn't actually intend to kill her.
"Why don't you push me away?"
His voice was hoarse as he half-closed his eyes, licking the blood from his lips, exuding a frightening allur
