Chapter 17: The Elite Omega Squad

I remembered what Hank had just said. Something was wrong. I tugged at Edmond's sleeve and said anxiously, "Let's go. I remember dad mentioning that Hank had an elite omega squad. They might be on their way over now." Unfortunately, it was too late. I heard a series of footsteps coming up the stairs, but they seemed to be waiting for something and didn't rush in immediately. Edmond went back to being an unruly playboy. He was even in the mood to carry me to the bathroom. He walked to the sink and picked up my right hand which had been licked by Hank. He held my hand and washed it carefully under the water. His handsome face was soft under the light, and his focused expression made him look exceptionally gentle. My heart instantly calmed down. He put my washed hand to his lips and kissed it as if he wanted to cover all the smell left behind by Hank. Blood rushed to my cheeks. I cowered and wanted to pull back my hand to stop him, but I didn't have any strength to do so. He seemed to be wanting me to see it clearly on purpose. He started slowly kissing my index finger. My gaze followed those thin lips and moved slowly to my fingertips. I could clearly see him stretch out his red tongue to lick the wound. My heart beat violently and I swallowed unconsciously. This action was obviously noticed by him. He finally let go of my hand. I heard him tease in a low and deep voice. "Looks like you like it very much." Nonsense! I immediately retorted in my mind, but my lips opened and closed for a long time, unable to speak a word. The rapidly rising temperature on my face seemed to have affected my brain as well. I thought my brain was going to be burned into a paste. I took a deep breath and was about to speak when the bathroom door was knocked open from the outside. Before I could see the person's face clearly, he was kicked out by Edmond and knocked down with the two people following closely behind him. Edmond turned around and smiled at me comfortingly. His tone was wild, but it had the magic to calm me down. "I'll go deal with these bastards first. I'll be back in a bit." I wanted him to bring me along, but the drug hadn't worn off yet, so I couldn't be of any help. I could only nod obediently and remind him in a soft voice, "Be... be careful." He closed the bathroom door, and soon there were fighting sounds coming from outside. I hung my head low. My gaze lingered on the wound on my finger for a moment before I looked away as though scalded. I took a few deep breaths, despising myself as I tried to erase the image from my mind. *** *Edmond* After I closed the door, my aura changed in an instant. My gentleness in the presence of Liana had now completely disappeared. A terrifying aura spread from my body, causing the six people in the room who were about to charge forward to hesitate for a moment. Of course I would not miss such a good opportunity! I quickly ran to the nearest person and punched him on the temple. At this moment, the others reacted and attacked me. Although I relied on my combat instincts to dodge most of the damage, I still took a punch to the chest before I finished off everyone in the room. I coughed lightly and casually wiped away the blood at the corner of my mouth. I frowned slightly and leaned against the window to check the situation downstairs. Nightsong was already tightly surrounded by dozens of people. Hank stood at the entrance and waited for the report his men brought him. Unfortunately, Hank was destined to be disappointed. "Well, looks like we're in trouble." I turned my neck and didn't worry too much. Just because they had more people didn't necessarily mean they had an advantage over me. I transformed into my wolf form and jumped out of the window. When I landed, I hit two unlucky bastards who couldn't dodge me in time. Then, I didn't miss a beat and pounced on the people nearby. Hank was momentarily flustered by this turn of events. Then, he quickly calmed himself down and commanded everyone to surround and attack the wolf. I easily saw through his intentions. I could never let him succeed. I raised my head and let out a long roar. The silver-white crescent mark between my eyebrows shone with magic power. The aura around my body rose again and forcefully tore a hole in the encirclement. Hank had been watching the situation closely and soon discovered the mark. He was shocked and shouted in disbelief, "Alpha! He's an Alpha!" "How is that possible?! I've never seen such a young Alpha!" "Even so, how could he be so strong?!" Everyone panicked and started attacking in a disorderly manner. I took this opportunity to launch an even more violent attack. "A bunch of useless trash. You think you can trap me?" I quickly ended the battle and watched Hank leave with some regret. I knew that now was not the time to deal with him. *** *Liana* I don't know how long I stayed in the bathroom. After Edmond left, I had been trying to gather the power in me, trying to get myself together so that I could at least have the ability to protect myself. Then I heard a wolf howl. It was Edmond! I suddenly became flustered. I found I couldn't remain calm anymore. The good thing was that the drug had finally worn off. Without a second thought, I ran out and slammed the door behind me. I scanned the room but didn't see anyone. After heaving a sigh of relief, I heard the sound of intense fighting downstairs. I vaguely heard someone shout something about Alpha, but I couldn't hear it clearly and didn't have the time to think too much about it. I hunched over the window and stuck my head out to take a look. I saw a familiar giant wolf moving left and right in the crowd with its back facing me. Every time it got close to a target, its sharp claws would slap them down fiercely. Clearly, he looked skillful. I heaved a long sigh of relief. My anxious feelings were finally gone. My legs started to buckle. I hurriedly held onto the window frame to steady myself. Looking at Edmond's brave wolf form, I felt my heart swell. The corners of my mouth instinctively curled up. It did not take long for Edmond to finish off all those people. Seeing the situation was already against him, Hank tried to run away. Instead of running after him, Edmond changed back into human form. The moment he turned around, there seemed to be a flash of silver light. I didn't pay much attention to it. The joy of surviving the onslaught overwhelmed me. At this moment, I really wanted to hug and kiss my hero. I couldn't wait for Edmond to come back. I thought I should go and greet him!I thought about it and did the same. I turned and ran downstairs. When I was a few steps away from the floor, I saw Edmond walking to the stairs. He seemed to be very surprised to see me. Then, he was so frightened by my actions that he quickly took two steps forward and caught me firmly in his arms. "I know that you can't stand me leaving you, but this is too dangerous for you!" He criticized me disapprovingly. I would've talked back, but I didn't this time. Instead, I wrapped my arms around his neck, raised my head, and kissed those red lips eagerly. He was stunned for a moment before quickly reacting and taking control. He placed one arm around my waist and pressed the back of my head with the other. His nimble tongue plundered everything in my mouth. I fell into his arms feeling aroused. When he let go, I was already panting. His thumb gently rubbed my slightly swollen lips. I heard his pleasant laughter and felt the chest under my face tremble slightly. The belated shame made me raise my hand and hit his chest lightly. Unexpectedly, I heard him cough violently. "Are you alright? Are you hurt?" I was freaked out. I wanted to step back to check on him, but he easily stopped me. He leaned close to my ear and blew into it. As I trembled, he said teasingly, "I was faking, silly." I was both infuriated and annoyed that I wanted to punch him again. Instead, he pulled me out of his arms and planted a peck kiss between my eyebrows. The feeling of being treasured made my face burn again. "Just wait for me here. I have to go save someone else. Don't open the door before I come back. Just lock the door. Don't open the door if it's not me, understand?" He reminded me carefully. I knew that the person he was going to save was probably very important to him, so I didn't say anything to stop him. I silently watched him turn around and leave. I returned to the room upstairs as I was told. Then I locked the door and opened the wardrobe before I took out a plain night dress and went to the washing room. Just as I reached the bathroom, I heard a knock on the door.
