The car was waiting outside. As soon as Owen stepped out of the hospital, his assistant, Thomas Hampton, came over holding an umbrella. Thomas, like Timothy, was one of Owen's assistants, though Thomas usually handled more of the business side while Timothy focused on personal tasks. Thomas was surprised when Timothy called him over, especially when he saw Owen carrying a woman out of the hospital. He had been working alongside Owen for a long time and had never seen him care for a woman like this—not even close.
