I'd even thought about where I'd like to be buried after Evan was done with me.
I must have committed mass murder in my past life to deserve whatever horrible fate awaited me now. The golf course spanned over a hundred acres—of all the places the golf ball could land, it just had to be on Evan's head.
My new sponsor quickly dropped his arms from either side of me. He looked like he wanted nothing to do with me.
Honestly, I didn't blame him. I wouldn't want to rub Evan the wrong way. It didn't matter if I wasn't the one who swung the club and sent the ball flying; at this point, I had no choice but to shoulder the blame.
"I'm so sorry about that, Mr. Zimmerman. I'll take you to the hospital right now," my new sponsor offered apologetically as he crossed the bit of greenery to where Evan was. "I should have kept a closer eye on her. Forgive me for my oversight."
