Chapter 9 He’s the Best Brother Ever
Helena had a son who passed away when he was young, and she never had another child after that.
Julianna and her twins had always assumed Helena lived alone, which was how she saved money. They did not want to trouble Helena when it came to spending.
They never realized what Helena meant by "well off."
“Just how rich are you, Grandma Helena?” Nancy was curious.
To Nancy, Julianna was not doing too badly herself. The jewelry she designed sold for a very high price, and their daily expenses showed this.
However, the way Julianna reacted indicated that the cars were costly. So, how rich was Helena?
Helena smiled but did not give them a straight answer. Instead, she kept them wondering. “One day, you’ll know since all my assets will eventually go to you. Alright, let’s go. We’ll see if the hotel your mom booked is decent enough. We’ll get a better one if it isn’t.”
Julianna smiled as she had booked the most luxurious hotel in Billy City. Just what kind of hotel could satisfy Helena?
They hopped into the cars and narrowly avoided Oliver, who had just left the airport. He was extremely jealous as he looked at the cars that drove away.
‘When will Elvis personally pick me up from the airport?’
Beep-beep!
When Oliver heard honking, he turned to look. It was the family chauffeur.
‘Alright, I take it back. He does care about me!’ Oliver thought and got in the car.
As the chauffeur drove him home, Oliver asked, “Do you know if my brother has a lover somewhere out there, Eric?”
Eric was a middle-aged man and had known the brothers since they were little. He mostly drove Elvis around, so he must have known something.
Eric laughed and shook his head. “I’m not too sure since that’s private. Elvis spends more time and effort on his work, anyway. He rarely considers his personal life.” Then he asked, “What made you ask this out of nowhere?”
"Here's the thing," Oliver said solemnly. “In the airport, I saw a little girl who looked exactly like him. The resemblance was uncanny. I assume she’s the illegitimate daughter of one of my family members.
“If that’s the case, she could be my brother's kid. But, with the way he is, would Elvis have the same desire as ordinary people?"
Eric was having trouble believing it, “Really? You’ve got to be joking. It’s not uncommon for strangers to resemble each other. Also, you could have seen it wrongly."
“No way! For anyone else, I could have been mistaken, but this is my brother. I’d never, ever make a mistake about how he looks.”
With that said, how was it possible for his brother to have had a lover?
“Forget about it. Maybe I was confused. I’m worn out and need a good, long rest.”
Eric grinned. “It’ll take us an hour to reach home. You could nap in the car, and I’ll let you know when we’re home.”
“Thanks, Eric. You’re the best!” Oliver said, “My brother doesn’t even care about me. He knew I had been on the road for a long time doing his work.”
Eric was amused. Oliver was nothing like Elvis, and yet they were very close.
“You say that, but I heard that Elvis transferred 750,000 dollars to you when I was on my way out. Didn’t you receive it?”
“What? Seriously? I have to see it!”
When Oliver heard Elvis had transferred the money to him, he was no longer tired. He quickly looked at his phone.
He confirmed that he had the money. Suddenly, Elvis was the best brother he could ever ask for.
…
They arrived at the hotel. Julianna had booked a presidential suite, which was on the top floor. There were two presidential suites there, but one of them wasn't open to the public.
She chose this hotel because Elvis owned it, which had shocked Kevin.
Juliana explained, “It’s called hiding in plain sight. Do you seriously think he’ll find me there? I don’t think so.”
Kevin had been speechless because what she said made sense. After all, Elvis had been searching for her but did not know her real identity.
The point was that it was safe for Julianna to stay here.
With all that said, Julianna never thought she would run into Elvis on the top floor. Thankfully, he was preoccupied, so he didn’t notice her.
He left with his assistants. One of the assistants, however, noticed Julianna and the twins. The assistant was a little confused because the twins looked just like Elvis.
“What’s on your mind, Davy?” Elvis asked.
Davy snapped out of it and shook his head. “Sorry, sir. I blanked out for a while there.”
“Stay alert,” Elvis reminded him before they entered the elevator.
Julianna was nervous but relieved that her true identity was still unknown. She realized she needed to learn more about Elvis' routines to avoid any future surprises with him.
