CHAPTER HUNDRED AND NINETEEN FORGETTING FEAR
JADE’S POV
We had just concluded the second meeting, and, fortunately, it had gone as quickly as the first one. I didn’t have a problem with the meetings themselves, but it was tiring to hear investors pitch one idea or another every day. Most of the time, they weren’t thinking about certain things that should have been discussed in the first place, like how starting construction in commercial areas would disrupt the businesses of the establishments around them or what would happen to the employees at a refinery when they got laid off abruptly. These people would most likely have no other source for their livelihood, and that was just sad.
The third one would begin around six, so I had about an hour and twenty-three minutes to go through Mark’s files and make sure they were accurately arranged before I returned them to him. I also saw what else I could help with, since I still had a bit of energy left. During the meeting, I had been looking at him, but not as much as I usually do
