"Amelia," Isabella said softly, her voice uncertain. "I... I hope I'm not intruding."
Amelia regarded her warily. "What do you want, Isabella?"
Isabella stepped forward, her eyes pleading. "I wanted to explain. To apologize. I never meant for things to go this far."
"But you did let them go this far," Amelia replied, her voice hard. "You've torn this family apart."
