Chapter 67
I noticed that Tristan liked to stroke my hair, as if he was comforting an agitated cat.
He said, "I'll be on a business trip for the next two days, so call Melvin if you need anything. Remember, try not to get into any trouble."
"Okay," I agreed.
After Tristan was done talking, he took his blazer and was about to leave.
Margaret, who was done with her kitchen chores, happened to come out. She called out, "Mr. Zook, why are you leaving? Aren't you going to stay and rest?"
I was at a loss for words.
Tristan smiled politely at Margaret. "No. I'm leaving. I'll be on a business trip for the next few days, so I'll have to trouble you to take good care of Wyn."
Margaret grinned from ear to ear, as if looking at her son-in-law. "I know. Ms. Lambert is just like my daughter, so pretty and obedient. I'll take good care of her even if you don't remind me."
Tristan smiled and said gently to me, "Be good and stay at home. Wait for me to come back."
I instantly felt my ears getting hot.
