"I want a divorce, Jameson. If you have any decency left, let's end this amicably."
I looked into his eyes seriously. "I was young and foolish back then, and I made mistakes. Jameson, maybe it's time we let each other go."
With that, I pulled Jason out of the hospital. As the elevator doors slowly closed, I caught a final glimpse of Jameson standing alone in the corridor. I lowered my eyes and avoided his gaze.
I couldn't quite describe how I felt—only a deep sense of relief.
At 18, I was proud and beautiful, but I loved the wrong person and clipped my own radiant wings.
By 25, I was still young and had the chance to start over. This time, however, I wouldn't let myself fall in love so easily.
I returned to the Zook residence, where Jason continued to administer my IV drip and medication. I followed his instructions obediently.
