Chapter 8 Detention

Kieran left very decisively. Emery watched as he left without hesitation. She felt that he and Tessa seemed strangely well-suited for each other. It was as though she was the third party interfering in their relationship. Emery's stomach churned aggressively. Unable to hold it in, she crouched by the roadside and vomited uncontrollably into the bushes. By the time the police arrived, she was deathly pale. They thought she was injured and needed to be taken to the hospital. It was all a big misunderstanding. At the police station, Emery completed her report and signed the papers. She was then sent to the detention room to wait. Emery was wholly responsible since she had driven without a driving license in the middle of the night and even ended up damaging public property. She would have to pay the fines in full, but it was fortunate that she wouldn't be detained. The police handed her an invoice for her summons, but she had just paid for Sarah's hospital fees earlier that day. E
