Chapter 86: Johnson's Cousin
"I have something else for you," the private investigator said, handing Maria a document.
"This is a firsthand account from the doctor and Johnson's medical records from when he visited the hospital. You can see for yourself how much of his memory has returned."
Maria opened the notebook and reviewed the records, which detailed the extent of Johnson’s recovered memories. The private investigator expected some sort of reaction from Maria—perhaps anger or sadness—but she remained emotionless, much to his surprise.
Curious, he asked, "Aren't you upset? After all, you and he... you have a child together."
Maria smiled and asked, "Which child are you referring to?"
The private investigator was momentarily taken aback, realizing his mistake. He awkwardly laughed and said, "Oh, right. I forgot for a moment."
He had unintentionally revealed more than he intended. Laughing nervously, he continued, "Actually, if you're interested, I could dig up more information, including all of Johnson'
