Chapter 71 Going Home for Dinner
Cruz’s words made Maria fall into deep thought. She turned to look at the woman who was sound asleep.
“We should head back now. Being outside isn’t the best idea, and it wouldn’t be good if someone saw us. Also, have you seen our daughter? She’s tired too.”
Cruz nodded and walked over to his daughter, placing his suit jacket over Sophia’s legs.
“Alright.”
Instead of taking Maria to a hotel, Cruz drove to a spacious apartment in the city center.
“What are we doing here?” Maria asked, a bit puzzled.
“I don’t stay here much, so you can use this place. It’s safer for you.”
Maria nodded, understanding that Cruz was looking out for her. She was exhausted and didn’t have the energy to think about anything else.
Cruz went to the kitchen, poured Maria a glass of water, and suggested she rest.
“Let me make you some food. Do you prefer Chinese or Western cuisine?”
“Anything is fine,” Maria replied, shaking her head before heading to the bedroom.
