Chapter 21
Alright, so rules meant nothing in the face of power.
Grace looked up and saw her five-year-old son already seated in the front row of the roller coaster.
He challenged, "If you're scared, you still have time to run."
"Who's scared?" Lifting her chin defiantly, Grace sat beside Ethan.
The front row offered an unobstructed view. She could see every inch of the towering vertical drop ahead.
Taking a deep breath, she forced herself to stay calm.
She was a strong, proud woman who refused to admit defeat. More importantly, she was a mother.
"Ethan, if you get scared later, just hold my—"
Before she could finish, she noticed Ethan undoing his safety harness. And then, just like that, the little rascal slipped away!
She barely had time to react before the roller coaster lurched forward.
As the roller coaster sped up, she caught sight of Ethan standing off to the side, casually waving her off. His sly, fox-like grin was a perfect reflection of her own.
