CHAPTER 158: DESPERATION

The Shadow wolves were not there for a chat; they swiftly attacked, and Dahliah fought back with her defensive spells. She blasted one of the wolves away with her magic and threw a magic shield around the other. The other she'd knocked away hit the wall and left cracks in it. When it got back up, it growled and came running over again. Zack shifted instantly and joined the fray. After much struggle, the other wolf could break out of the magic shield that Dahliah had cast, thanks to Dahlia's divided attention. One of the wolves took a swipe at her, but she ducked out of the way. The other quickly pushed her down and tried biting her head off. Dahlia fought hard to hold it off, but the beast was too strong. She couldn't concentrate enough to use her spells, and her hands weren't free.
