CHAPTER 154: DRAKON'S BODY
Zack pushed open the heavy wooden door of the palace chamber, his footsteps echoing against the stone floor. In the center of the room lay Drakon's body, surrounded by a circle of runes and protective charms. Dahlia and Elara, his mate, looked up as he entered, their faces down with worry and anticipation.
Dahlia, her eyes red from sleepless nights, stepped forward. "Zack, what did you find out?"
Zack took a deep breath, his face a mask of tiredness. "I followed the head of the council. He met with the Dark seer, the one who attacked and took you hostage, Dahlia."
Elara gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. "The Dark Seer? Are you sure?"
"Positive," Zack replied, his voice firm. "I overheard their conversation. The Dark seer asked when the council would open the gates to the visitors. I believe he's referring to the shadow wolves."
Dahlia's brow furrowed. "Shadow wolves? This is worse than I thought."
