CHAPTER 106: A DISTURBING SHADOW
Shirley breathed a soft, contented sigh at the gentle night breeze caressing her face. Right then, everything felt perfect. From the velvet blanket, they were sitting on, the flickering candles that surrounded them, and the soft glow of lanterns.
She inhaled deeply as a small smile tugged at her lips. She enjoyed the sweet scent of blooming wildflowers and the insistent chirpings of crickets in the distance.
She felt beautiful under the ancient oak canopy with the man who made her days colorful.
"I could watch you like this forever," Drakon muttered dreamily.
His softness snapped her back to the present, and she smiled as he continued, "You looked so beautiful with that contented expression on your face."
"Perhaps it is because I am feeling content right now," she replied, then popped a grape into her mouth.
He chuckled, "Fair enough….was everything to your taste?" He asked.
