CHAPTER 102: AWAKE
Drakon's tears fell freely as he stared at Shirley's lifeless body. It felt like something had left him, and it hurt him to think of it. He had loved her deeply, and the fact that he never actually wanted her at first shamed him.
He dug his hands into her hair and caressed it, smoothing it like they were having fun on the beach.
"Shirley." He whispered; his lips quivered as he kept smoothing her hair. "I love you. I know that you know already." He chuckled a bit. Behind him, his beta's exchanged looks while Liam shook his head sideways; Dahlia was a few feet away from them, obviously angry that Drakon had not believed her.
"She is not dead." She muttered under her breath
Drakon looked up at her. He could smell her annoyance. "I hope you are right, though," Drakon muttered.
" Huh," Drakon heard a soft mumble and looked down. Shirley's eyes were fluttering.
