Chapter 89 The Artificial Hill
Evelyn couldn't shake her curiosity about how Crystal had managed to leave the Blackwell residence. She had clearly seen her enter the kitchen and head toward the backyard. And the front gate was being guarded by Damian's men—without his permission, no one could leave.
As Evelyn wandered through the backyard, her mind wandered back to the night Damian had asked her to meet him in the pavilion. That was when she had heard strange noises coming from the corner of the wall. On a whim, she decided to check it out for herself.
It was broad daylight, and there were no outsiders at the estate today. Safety wasn't a concern.
Evelyn glanced around, confirming that no one else was nearby, and then quietly approached the wall.
For some reason, she felt as though someone was watching her from a distance.
She paused, looked up, and instinctively scanned the area. Her gaze landed on a window at the corner of the south block's staircase.
