Chapter 43 The Shadow in the Kitchen at Midnight
In the dead of the night in the Blackwell residence's kitchen, Damian watched with his arms crossed as Evelyn fumbled with the stove.
"Do you… know how to use that?" he asked with concern.
She ignited the gas stove with a confident click and raised an eyebrow. "Are you really looking down on me?"
Even if she had never cooked, she had watched others do so. It was just that she had never tested out a gas stove from the '80s.
She figured that if she could handle complex chemical extractions in a lab, cooking would be a breeze by applying the same principles.
Damian rubbed his nose as his eyes sparkled with amusement. "As long as you know what you're doing."
Evelyn intended to make a quick plate of pasta just enough to tide him over. It was late, and she didn't want to make too much noise, lest they wake the others.
