Taylor finally relaxed and crawled out from under the table.
"Finally, a meal in peace! You have no idea how tough it's been these past few days. I haven't even dared to go home—I've been sleeping in my car. It's been such a hassle!" Taylor grumbled, straightening his clothes.
Just then, Abigail's voice rang out from the doorway. "So, how miserable has it really been?"
Taylor's eyes widened in panic as he darted behind Jenson, peeking out cautiously. When he saw Abigail's face, a wave of despair instantly swept over him.
"What the hell?" Taylor hissed, jabbing Jenson in the shoulder. "You said no one was following you!"
"That's right," Jenson said, grinning mischievously. "Abigail came with me, so technically, she's not following me."
"You—" Taylor seethed, his hand rising to flip Jenson off, but he quickly stopped himself.
With a strained smile, he slapped Jenson's chest. "What a great friend you are! You must be worried I'll explode from rage, huh?"
