Everyone turned to find Abigail unscathed under the streetlight, casually chewing bubble gum and radiating an air of arrogance.
Caroline stormed over, her eyes blazing with fury. "You knew about the ambush, didn't you?"
"Uh-huh." Abigail raised an eyebrow, not bothering to deny it.
"Who leaked it?" Caroline demanded, shooting a glare at her crew.
"It wasn't me!"
"Not me, either."
"I had nothing to do with it!"
They all quickly distanced themselves from the situation.
"Enough with the finger-pointing," Abigail said calmly. "It wasn't any of them. I just happened to slip a listening device into your bag at the bar last time."
"Did you really eavesdrop on us? How low can you get?" one of the men shouted, anger palpable in his voice.
"So it's wrong for me to eavesdrop, but hiring someone to commit murder is considered honorable?" Abigail retorted, completely unfazed.
The men fell silent, realizing their actions were far worse.
