Chapter 23
Logan and Lorraine counted the fruits for a while. When the workers returned after plucking cherries, Lorraine asked them to help count the mangoes. They were delighted to hear that the ripe mangoes would all be sold because of a new business deal and quickly got to work.
If business did well, Lorraine would be in a good mood. Then, she would give them bonuses. Naturally, they were happy about this. She had always been generous to her workers.
At noon, Lorraine cooked lunch for herself and Logan at the orchards. She had meat in the cottage, which some workers had bought for her. As for the vegetables, she had planted some in the empty land beside her cottage.
"Lunch is ready, Logan." She came out of the kitchen with two dishes. The cottage wasn't huge, but it had everything she needed since she spent most of her time at the orchards. It had a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom.
"Alright." Logan cleared the table and watched as Lorraine put the dishes down. She had made stir-fried chick
