"Okay," Lorraine said. She and Sonia had known each other for over two decades, so she knew what Sonia liked. Lorraine agreed without hesitation.
Sonia left with Jacob. Once they were in the car, Jacob looked at Sonia, who continued to eat cherries while in the front passenger seat. He couldn't help saying, "It's not good to indulge in anything, Ms. Lynch. You don't want to get diabetes from eating too many cherries."
She said, "Well, I'll get mad if I can't eat what I want to eat. To prevent the flames of my anger from burning everyone around me, it's better that I eat more cherries. Besides, no one's ever gotten diabetes from a few cherries. Fruits are always good for health.
"I'll be fine after drinking some water when we get back to the company. You should worry more about yourself, Mr. Moore. You wouldn't want to develop a craving for them after only trying a few."
Jacob briefly fell silent. Then, he said, "That's never happened to me, and I doubt it ever will."
