Tiffany realized she had forgotten her bag after she had left. As she turned to go back, a car stopped in front of her.
Vincent rolled down the window, his expression serious. "Heading back to campus?" he asked.
Tiffany nodded. "Yeah."
"Get in. I'll give you a ride."
Tiffany hesitated. "It's alright, I…"
"Get in the car." Vincent's voice grew increasingly stern, tinged with a hint of displeasure.
Tiffany felt a knot of apprehension in her chest, and she hesitated briefly. Finally, she opened the door and got into the car.
As the car sped up onto the highway, Tiffany held onto her seatbelt tightly.
Her body was tense against the seat as she watched the passing night scenery. Her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might leap out of her chest.
