Zelda looked at Virgil, her calm eyes betraying no emotion. "Virgil, there's nothing between us anymore. If you're looking for something, go to Faye. I'm sure she'd be more than happy to oblige."
Virgil narrowed his eyes, a dangerous glint flashing in them. "Zelda, are you playing games with me?"
She stood up, feeling that she had done enough to clarify the rumors online.
"I came here just for the information. I didn't agree to anything else. If you have nothing more to discuss, I'll be leaving."
As she started to back away, Virgil's eyes darkened with a fierce intensity. He couldn't let her go so easily. Grabbing her arm, he pushed her against the wall.
Zelda instinctively tried to break free, but Virgil's grip was too strong, pinning her hands in place.
Frustration bubbled up inside her. She had been prepared to defend herself with a silver needle if it came to it, but Virgil was one step ahead.
