"I'll take full responsibility," Zelda declared firmly, which made Victor's expression darken considerably.
The patients had been suffering miserably and remembered how Victor had ignored them for days. Meanwhile, Zelda had consistently checked on them and kept detailed records.
Victor's first show of concern was when he gave them the medication this morning. Yet it had left them violently ill. Naturally, their trust lay with Zelda.
"Dr. Cantrell, could you prescribe something for me too? The dizziness and vomiting are unbearable," another patient called out, which prompted the entire ward to request her help.
Victor's anger flared as he glared at Zelda. "She's just an intern! If something goes wrong, she'll just walk away. How can you trust her with your treatment?"
His words silenced the patients. They were worried about the possible extended hospital stays and mounting medical bills if their condition worsened.
Zelda gave Victor a cold glance before addressing the patient
