I sighed in relief when the call was cut off due to a lack of response.
However, when the deadly ringtone fired up again, I could only accept the call resignedly.
I was fully aware that Mrs. Jakeman was a stubborn woman. She wouldn't give up even if I declined all her calls. She'd come knocking on my door.
