Alana’s POV.
Tuesday morning, I scrambled to pack my toiletries and wolfed down breakfast in a rush, trying to complete my preparations on time. Punctuality was usually my strong suit—I was early to almost everywhere I went, sometimes even excessively so. But for some inexplicable reason, airports seemed to turn me into a last-minute sprinter. I'd find myself racing against the clock, consistently arriving with a mere five-minute buffer. I couldn't quite figure out why this phenomenon occurred, but I'd come to accept it as a quirky part of my travel routine.
Alec lent a hand with my bags, and soon we were en route to the airport in a luxurious SUV. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of impression Alec must have been making at his workplace for them to send such a high-end vehicle to chauffeur us.
"What's next? All-paid first-class tickets with extra-warm blankets?" I quipped, scrolling through my social media feed on my phone.
"Something even better," Alec replied with a mischiev
