"I can handle any project, but not this one!" Judy struggled against Clark's grasp, her teeth clenched. "If this project is so great, let someone else do it. There are plenty of people who would want to!"
Suddenly, a sharp crack echoed. Clark's hand slammed against the doorframe, inches from her face. His shadow loomed over her, pinning her against the wall.
"This isn't a discussion. It's an order. You do this, or you're gone." His eyes were cold, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Judy stared back fiercely, years of resentment boiling over, her body trembling with the force of her emotions.
She had a thousand reasons to refuse Clark's demand, but ultimately, she accepted. "I'll take it."
Her acceptance was driven by one overriding need—to stay at Reid Incorporated, close to Clark, and to uncover evidence related to Roy's death.
"I accept. Can you let go of me now?"
