Clark's expression darkened as he strode towards the door. Just before opening it, he said, "Dominic, shouldn't you be going to work early and minding your own business?"
"Taking care of a patient is my business," Dominic said.
Clark gripped the door handle tightly with a dark gaze. With a bang, the door slammed shut, causing the entire house to tremble. Judy flinched and shivered.
"It's okay," Dominic comforted her and patted her through the covers, his gaze steady.
In the living room downstairs, breakfast was laid out on the dining table.
"Mr. Reid, breakfast is ready. Would you like coffee or—"
"I don't need anything." Clark interrupted coldly and cast a disdainful glance at the servant. "You sure have a lot of free time if you have your employer delivering meals. You might as well quit."
For the following week, Clark didn't return. Judy recovered from her injuries, and a new batch of servants replaced those from the Reid Residence.
