Chapter 21 Benedict's Silent Concern
Joseph's lip twitched as he coldly chuckled. "I don't believe any man would fall in love with a woman as charmless as you."
Cordelia tapped her fingertips together and leisurely responded, "A man taller than you, much more handsome, and a lot richer than you. No need to envy him, after all, a beauty like me isn't something ordinary men can have!"
He needed to calm down! Joseph felt like his lungs were about to explode. When in his life had he ever been subjected to such insults?
Taking a deep breath, he said, "Have you seen enough? Put the clothes down and wait at the door."
Cordelia placed the clothes on a chair, slipped out like an agile kitten, and muttered before leaving, "I don't want to look at you anyway. You're so thin, not even as strong as a plumber."
As she closed the door, she heard the sound of things being thrown inside.
Cordelia stood at the door and covered her mouth, amused. She wondered, 'He's really a fool. I just teased him a bit, and he got angry!'
