Chapter 6 After All, We're Married PART 2

She turned away, opened Benedict's wardrobe, filled with black sleepwear sets, and grabbed one to hand over to him. Benedict took it and started dressing. "Why the rush? Wait until I turn around before putting on your clothes." Cordelia hurriedly turned her back to him. A moment later, a wet towel that had wrapped around the man's waist landed on Cordelia's head. From behind, a cold voice said, "Come here." Cordelia internally screamed, tossing the towel aside and muttering, "Ah, not mine!" She turned around to see Benedict sitting on the sofa, his tall and imposing figure casting a shadow, with cold eyes, a straight nose, and a firm jawline, flawless from every angle, incredibly tempting. Benedict took out a stack of pre-prepared divorce papers from the side of the sofa and placed them casually beside him. "Sign it." Cordelia walked over, sat down at a safe distance, and opened the document. It was a divorce agreement. Three months later, they would part ways, and she would leave with nothing. Cordelia tossed the agreement back, indifferently stating, "I won't sign it." Benedict's heart coldly sneered. The moment she realized there was no money involved, she refused to sign. Did she dare say marrying him wasn't for the money? "If I sign now, what if you decide to divorce me within three months? I won't get anything." she considered the possibility of losing her mother's inheritance. At that time, each of her efforts for this marriage would be in vain. Benedict squinted his cold eyes, trying to decipher the woman's thoughts. Cordelia reassured firmly. "I promise you. We'll divorce in three months, and I won't ask for anything when I leave." "If you find that unreliable, I can sign an agreement that after divorce, I will waive any compensation or alimony from you." Benedict, with a composed gaze, didn't think she was bluffing. He tossed the divorce papers into the trash. "Fine, I'll have a new agreement drawn up tomorrow. You can leave." Cordelia shook her head. "Mr. Archibald just told me we can't sleep separately. If he finds out, he'll move in and keep an eye on us. You don't want Mr. Archibald to discover our fake marriage, right?" She got up from the sofa. "I'll sleep on the couch, and you can take the bed. Don't worry. I'm fair and won't take advantage of you." Benedict frowned. This was originally his room, but she spoke as if it belonged to her. He got up and walked to the bed, lying down. His prolonged stress had made his sleep shallow, and he often had trouble sleeping well. Therefore, when he slept, the lights had to be turned off, and soft music had to play to help his sleep. Benedict turned off the lights and lay on the bed for a while but couldn't find any sleep. He then turned the bedside lamp back on, gazing at the sofa. Cordelia was already asleep, without a blanket, using a headrest as a makeshift pillow. Her delicate face lay on the side, her thin lips soft and sweet like cotton candy, her slender waist, long legs, everything about her was dreamlike and beautiful... He swallowed his throat, got up, and walked toward Cordelia.
