Chapter 73: A Familiar face.
Cameron’s POV
The sound of heavy feet reverberated down the stone corridor as I straightened, my muscles tensing. Before I could see the three guards, their expressions unreadable, I could smell the smell of sweat and steel.
There was a change.
Everyone save Ezra had ignored me as I rotted in my confinement for days. When the guards brought me whatever pathetic morsels of food they thought I needed to stay alive, they hardly gave me a glance.
Now, however, they were present.
They were also chained.
The tallest guard moved forward, his lips twisting into a savage grin. "Rogue, you're on your feet."
I remained motionless. "What's happening?"
The grin got bigger. "They're transferring you."
Moved?
I scowled. "Where?"
I jerked forward as the guard pulled the chains. "You'll learn soon enough."
I resisted, digging my heels into the dirt. "You think I'm going to blindly enter whatever hell you have in store?"
