Chapter 23

Sara’s POV “If you dare to touch me, I’ll scream,” I threaten, looking around for something to use as a weapon. But there’s nothing besides dusty floor all around. “Yeah?” Eddie asks, backtracking towards the door and engaging the lock. “And who is gonna come to your help? If they can hear you, that is.” I grit my teeth and move towards the edge of the roof. But we are four floors up, and when I look over the edge, I see there’s no lower roof I could jump onto–if I dared. Unless I can get to the door and unlock it before he catches me, I’m stuck here. “You know,” he is saying, walking towards me, “you should be grateful that a werewolf like me is interested in you.” “A werewolf like you?” I scoff, my mouth getting ahead of my sense of self-preservation. “What’s so special about someone like you?” His eyes narrow, and I can tell I’ve hit a nerve. I’m not sure that’s such a good thing. On one hand, it might make him lose his calm and give me a better chance of outsmarting him and escapin
