The receptionist gave her a once-over but took her time responding, casually pouring herself a glass of water and taking a sip before she finally spoke with a touch of disdain, “29th floor.”
“Thanks.”
Even after a year in the workforce, Nova still felt a blush creep up her cheeks under such scrutiny. She knew well enough she didn’t quite mesh with the vibe at Aurora Group. The receptionist’s dismissive attitude seemed par for the course.
