CHAPTER SIXTY – DON’T UNDERESTIMATE HER
Hours passed, and still, the sounds of fighting echoed through the compound. Laura's hands were stained with blood, her muscles aching from the constant work, but she pushed on. Every life she saved, every wound she treated, felt like a small victory against the senseless violence tearing the pack apart.
It was nearing dawn when Jake burst into the cellar, his face bruised and bloody but his eyes alight with urgency.
"Laura," he panted, "Logan's been injured. He needs your help."
Laura's heart leapt into her throat. She looked at Emma, who nodded encouragingly.
"Go," Emma said. "We can manage here."
Laura grabbed what medical supplies she could carry and followed Jake out of the cellar. As they navigated through the compound, Laura was struck by the destruction around her. The once peaceful werewolf community had been transformed into a battlefield.
