CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY SEVEN – DRAGOMIR’S MARK
With a snarl of acknowledgment, Logan changed direction, barreling through friend and foe alike to reach the heart of their operations. He arrived just in time to see a group of enemy vampires attempting to breach the reinforced doors.
Logan's howl of challenge froze the attackers in their tracks. They turned, eyes widening in fear at the sight of the enraged alpha bearing down on them. What followed was a massacre. Logan's claws ripped through vampire flesh with terrifying ease, his jaws crushing undead bones.
As the last attacker fell, Logan allowed himself a moment to catch his breath. The air was thick with the scent of blood and fear, but underneath it all, he could smell something else – something familiar.
"It can't be," he muttered, shifting back to his human form.
