CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN – GOING OFF THE GRID
The decision to move Emma to a safe house was made quickly in the aftermath of the attack on Wolfram Towers. Laura paced the floor of Logan's office, her mind racing with possibilities and potential dangers.
"We can't stay here," she said, running a hand through her disheveled hair. "It's not safe for Emma anymore."
Logan nodded, his face grim. "Agreed. We need somewhere off the grid, somewhere Carter won't think to look."
They spent hours poring over maps and property listings, searching for the perfect hideout. Finally, they settled on a modest two-story house in a quiet suburban neighborhood about an hour outside of Orlando.
"It's perfect," Laura said, examining the photos. "Quiet, unassuming. We can blend in."
Logan raised an eyebrow. "We?"
Laura felt her cheeks flush. "Well, I mean... Emma needs me. And we can't exactly send her there alone."
After a moment's hesitation, Logan nodded. "You're right. We'll both go. We can pose as a married couple, with Emma as our daughter.
