CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWO – THE WITCH
"I've been expecting you, Laura Jay," a rich, feminine voice said. "Come in, we have much to discuss."
Laura hesitated for a moment, then squared her shoulders and stepped inside. The interior of the cabin was a stark contrast to its rustic exterior. Every surface was covered with strange artifacts, glowing crystals, and ancient-looking books. The air was thick with the scent of incense and something else Laura couldn't quite identify.
The woman who had greeted her moved to stand by a large, ornate fireplace. She was tall and statuesque, with long, dark hair that seemed to shimmer in the firelight. But it was her eyes that caught Laura's attention – a vibrant, piercing green that seemed to look right through her.
"You're Morgana?" Laura asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
The woman nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "I am. And you, Laura, are in quite the predicament."
Laura's eyes widened. "How do you-"
