Chapter 43: She Must Be Playing Dumb
To everyone's surprise, Conor stood up for Aurelia.
Amelia Green, a rich girl born with a silver spoon, looked at him in disbelief. "Mr. Burton?" she asked, her eyes wide.
"What's up?" Conor shot back, his voice like ice.
"But Mr. Burton, my dad is..." Amelia stuttered, looking all confused.
"Don't give a damn who your daddy is," Conor cut her off. "Aurelia's my girl. If you keep disrespecting her, you'd better be ready to deal with your old man."
Amelia was left speechless. Their relationship was just for some reality TV show. Was Conor taking this gig too seriously? She looked at Conor, not believing her eyes. Aurelia was just a scriptwriter. Even if she wrote some popular scripts, how could she hold a candle to Amelia, the rich girl?
Stacey, the director, had had enough. "If you don't wanna audition, there's the door." She was sick of Amelia's big head.
"Who'd want to act out your crummy script? You might as well let a dog do it!" Amelia shot back, storming off in a huff.
