Stacey shot a teasing look, "I can share with you."
"As if he'd give me a second glance," Sally said.
"When we were together, we were both blind to each other. Both of us were drugged at the time," Stacey revealed, a tale Sally hadn't heard before.
"No wonder he didn't recognize you," Sally said, realization dawning. "I always thought he was a jerk."
"He's not a jerk," Stacey responded coldly, "but I have no intention of maintaining any connection with him. I only agreed to marry him to return to Zephyria under a proper guise to investigate the truth behind my mother's death."
Neither the Phoenix, the Charlotte, nor the screenwriter Aurelia were suitable for her purpose.
Only as the naive Stacey could she avoid unnecessary trouble.
