Chapter 23: For The "Normal" Stacey
Stacey couldn't quite figure out what Conor was really up to.
She gave a nonchalant nod and said, "Sounds like a thrilling vendetta. I'm all for it."
Conor chuckled softly and said, "As long as you're happy, Stacey."
Did the Hampton family suspect Stacey was pretending to be clueless, or were they fooled too? Conor wondered, curious to find out.
"Let's grab something to eat," he suggested, holding her hand.
He felt her hand in his, which made him smile.
"I need to wash my hands, Mommy," Ethan pushed Conor's hand away and led Stacey towards the exit.
Conor narrowed his eyes slightly. The kid was sharper than he looked.
The next day, Conor brought Stacey back to the Hampton family. They didn't expect him to return with her, but here they were.
The Hampton family members were all overly complimentary towards Conor, conveniently avoiding any mention of Luna, who was still in police custody. But Stacey knew Brysen wouldn't just ignore her.
