Chapter 24 Archery
Diana suddenly smiled at me. "Don't you know archery? Teach me!"
I was stunned.
Diana's smile stiffened, then vanished. She grabbed my arm. "Jasmine, I'm talking to you. Are you deaf?"
I paused for a moment, then I grabbed Diana's bow and picked up an arrow. I strung the bow and aimed at the target.
I let the arrow go. Bull's eye.
I cheered internally. After all, I haven't touched the bow for a long time. However, everyone around me merely looked at each other. None of them applauded. They even looked a little disgusted.
When I turned around to look at Diana, she was showing a dark expression. She slapped me.
I clutched my face and felt confused. "Why?"
Diana said to my ear. "I want you to teach me, not to show off your skills."
I finally understood. Diana did not want me to steal her thunder.
I said silently, "I'm sorry, Your Majesty. I didn't realize."
