He was one of the oldest werewolves I had ever seen. His wrinkles were so deep I could almost place a finger in them.
"I have heard many things about you," the werewolf called Stafar said. "Good things," he added with a smile. "But I don't think you are helping."
"What makes you think so?" I asked.
"Well, tell me. Can we walk?" He stretched out his hand.
"Fine," I said, and followed him.
"It took years," he said. "Long years of training him. I was his teacher," Stafar said.
"So you think you know him better than all?" I said, finishing for the Elder. He sped up and looked at me for a moment.
"No," he said. "All the years I spent pouring knowledge into that boy, and I have little idea of what goes on in his mind. So much so that I was surprised when he told me he wanted to become the next Alpha."
I shook my head. "Alphas are born," I wanted to say.
