Chapter 6: Breaking bonds

Though I had no appetite, I remembered promising Alex to eat at the right time so I took out the sandwich he had packed for me and ate. Though we were far from each other, I could still feel his care for me.
Afterwards, I drank some of the fruit juice too and decided to get some sleep. The worrying from the night before was begining to get to me and I desperately needed some rest.
I hadn't slept for long when I sorted awake in my sleep. I heard some sound, and immediately knew I had company. Who they were wasn't clear though.
Picking up a napkin from my side, I cleaned the fog on the glass. The rain was still as heavy as it was before I slept and I had to strain my eyes for any signs of movement. However, there was nothing.
Sighing, I lay back properly on the relaxed chair, covering myself up with the blanket. ‘Perhaps, it was an animal. There was no reason to be scared.’ I assured myself.
