"For some reason, I can't help but feel jealous," Cressida said as she tapped her feet outside my room.
"Why? Why should you?" I asked, feeling defensive. "You don't even know them."
She glared inside my room. "Are they there?" she asked me.
"They are not. They're not here every second, every day," I replied. "Why are you like this? There really should be no problem," I said, finally letting her inside. She looked around the room and wrinkled her nose.
"The place reeks of them," she said, scanning the room with skeptical eyes.
"Stop that," I said, taking a seat.
"I don't trust them," she said, meeting my eyes.
"Because you're jealous," I said, responding before she could.
"I'm not that petty, Talia," she said. "Definitely not that petty. There's something off about the two of them, but I really wish you would see it instead of being so blinded by the fact that they are from your former pack," she said, taking a seat beside me and taking my hand.
