Chapter 379: First Encounter
Baron
"Now!" Baron roared, and the shooters let loose a volley of iron bullets, the projectiles whistling through the air and sinking into the serpent’s thick, scaly hide.
The creature let out an ear-piercing screech, its body thrashing violently as the bullets struck it. But it wasn’t enough. The serpent lunged forward, its jaws snapping dangerously close to the ship’s hull.
"Brace yourselves!" Bane shouted, grabbing hold of the mast as the ship rocked violently beneath the serpent’s assault.
Baron steadied himself, his eyes narrowing as he watched the creature. "Fire again!" he ordered.
Another volley of iron bullets shot toward the serpent, and this time, the creature let out a low, guttural growl before retreating back beneath the surface, its massive form disappearing into the depths.
For a moment, there was silence. The men held their breath as they watched the water, waiting to see if the creature would return.
